All prospective
KU students with a
3.25 unweighted
GPA may apply for
KU scholarships through the Office
of Admissions and Scholarships (
OAS).
Although scholarships are competitive, one in four
KU
freshmen receives an academic scholarship each year. For your convenience,
OAS has combined
the application for admission with the scholarship application. In order to be
considered for scholarships, be sure to check the box
"Consider me for
scholarships." If you meet the minimum requirement and your application
is complete, your application will be reviewed by the
OAS
staff. Some departments offer scholarships to new students. Please check
www.admissions.ku.edu for a list of
departments. If you list one of those majors and you meet their criteria, the
Office of Admissions and Scholarships will forward your application to that
department.
The priority deadline for scholarship applications is
November 1,
and the final deadline is
December 1 every year. Your application
must be complete in order to be reviewed for scholarships. For details on a

Incoming Freshman International Students
KU offers a few partial
scholarships for qualified newly admitted international students. To be considered
for a scholarship, you must first be admitted. Eligibility is based on academic
records, generally requiring a 3.5
GPA
or higher on the 4.0 scale,
TOEFL and
SAT scores, essays and letters of
recommendation. If you qualify to be considered for a scholarship, you will be
informed after you have been admitted. Priority deadlines for scholarship
consideration are January 15 for Fall semester and October 1 for Spring semester.
